Qualified as an auctioneer and valuer, after working in London for several years, I returned to my native home on the Island and a new career in horticulture. A good knowledge of the Island environment, as well as a sense of seasonality informs my craftwork. I love plants, gardens and the people associated with them and spend time working outside every day.
I have recently qualified as a basket maker through City and Guilds and now teach countryside crafts during the winter months. I use natural materials and enjoy the challenge of making something from locally -coppiced wood. Each piece displays the uniqueness of something made by hand and a is demonstration of the interdependency and connectedness of ourselves with our environment.
